The book Sprich mit mir (Speak with Me) presents conversational sculptures by the artist Till Velten, who lives and works in Zurich and Berlin. One focus of his work is to translate worlds of experience into language through dialogues with people. This began with the exhibition Speak with Me in the Zwölfbotenkapelle in Zürich’s Grossmünster church. It contains twelve interviews with people, all of whom have some connection to the Grossmünster and its long and moving history. Discussions were carried out with church ministers, the sexton and voluntary staff. These dealt with questions about how relevant the church space is for them, as well as what associations and images it brings to life. Although all the interviews followed a set catalogue of questions, each of them brought their own unpredictable dynamic, bringing Velten and those he interviewed closer to one another.
