In 2021, artist Ian Anüll spent six months in London as part of a studio residency. As a keen and critical observer, Anüll collected both natural and urban debris, objects and curious aperçus. These found objects sparked the artist’s creativity, which he transformed into art with a lightness of touch. A blue tile discovered in a tree hollow led him to explore Prussian blue, a theme that ties together all his London works. Anüll reinterprets objects, texts, and images with both analytical precision and playful enjoyment, which he combines to create sharp commentaries on contemporary issues. His work targets powerful figures such as Vladimir Putin and Boris Johnson, as well as social phenomena such as beauty obsession, capitalism’s excesses, and the art market. The publication London Blue is available in both German and English, each featuring 'Ich xtagstartz3 Luzern' and 'Ich <3 London' stickers. This publication accompanies the exhibition Ian Anüll.
