In the essay Ich zeichne Kreise auf ein Blatt, der Stein fällt ins Wasser (I draw circles on a leaf, the stone falls into the water), thoughts and stories constantly intertwine to form new ones. The individual chapters sometimes revolve around small anecdotes and memories, others around individual words, their origins and interpretations. Language is questioned and words are reinterpreted and newly formed. Via many detours, stumbling blocks and small paths, the thoughts ultimately trace a finely woven net; one which questions our relationship as human beings to that which surrounds us – that which we sometimes call environment, surroundings, landscape or even nature.
