Good Night – In Conversation with the Darkness takes a closer look at perception, imagination and the political dimensions of the night and artificial light. In this visual narrative, Chantal Meng invites us to question socio political issues, urban living spaces and light pollution in connection with how we deal with darkness and our relationship to it. Proceeding from artistic ethnographic research, darkness is explored as both a space of cultural experience and a subject of urban design. Photographs and texts follow a city dwelling fox on its nocturnal forays, accompanied by a dialogue between darkness and a narrative voice.
Good Night – In Conversation with Darkness is a turnaround book where one page tells the story in English, and the other in German – thus bringing the two languages together.
