The book Arbeiten und Materialien by the artist Eric Lanz combines current video installations and object scans with earlier groups of works since the 1990s. Lanz's works are multimedia, bringing together things, people and machines. They focus on materiality, direct contact with the world, material processes and spaces, which are increasingly being pushed into the background by the use of technology. His art awakens the desire for discovery, plays with enthusiasm and attention and at the same time describes growth and decay. The publication is supplemented by a foreword by Fritz Emslander, a dialogue between the artist and Matthias Winzen and essays by Katja Pilisi and Laurent Adert, which comprehensively contextualize Lanz's work. The image section was created in close collaboration between the designer Christian Dietz and Eric Lanz. This publication is published on the occasion of the exhibition Eric Lanz at Museum Morsbroich, Leverkusen 2025.
