The book Works and Materials by artist Eric Lanz brings together his latest video installations and object scans with earlier groups of works dating back to the 1990s. Lanz's multimedia creations integrate objects, people, and machines, emphasizing materiality and direct engagement with the world—elements that are increasingly overshadowed by technology. His art sparks a lust for discovery, playing with delight and attentiveness while exploring themes of growth and decay. The publication includes a foreword by Fritz Emslander, a dialogue between Lanz and Matthias Winzen, and essays by Katja Pilisi and Laurent Adert, offering a comprehensive contextualization of his work. The image section was developed in close collaboration with designer Christian Dietz. This publication was created to coincide with the exhibition Eric Lanz at Museum Morsbroich, Leverkusen, in 2025.
