Happy Meals

For more than ten years, the graphic designer Lisa Pepita Weiss used her smartphone to collect fragments of food images that she saw in everyday life in snack bars, doner-kebab shops and restaurants. During this process, she focused on visually unexpected moments: absurd compositions, photos altered by external influences, as well as surreal or comical details.
The flood of photographic images is interspersed with the typographic works of the artist Beni Bischof. What emerges is a conceptual interplay between language and image, reacting at times with irony, at other times critically, sometimes pensively to the visual material, creating a second narrative level that resonates with the pictures.
