This publication was created for the exhibition Zwischenräume (Intermediate Spaces) by Hanns Otte at the Kunsthalle St. Gallen, 1995, curated by Josef Felix Müller. Otte took photographs in Europe and America between 1979 and 1994, primarily in public spaces with a focus on courtyards and communal outdoor spaces. Several photographs were also taken in the city of St. Gallen. Almost all of the places recorded there are no longer recognisable today or no longer exist in the same form.
