SOMA is a curatorial inquiry by Kristina Grigorjeva, unfolding through 14 questions posed to 14 contemporary sound artists. Each question traces listening not as method but as a relational, embodied, and situated practice. Through this dialogic form, the book composes a dispersed score of somatic sensitivities, where attention flickers, sound unsettles, and bodies become porous sites of encounter. Echoing Pauline Oliveros and Sarah Ahmed, listening emerges as a politics of presence—as social, spatial, and affective negotiation. It is not what is heard, but how we hear each other, that begins to matter. Listening becomes a social practice.
