The artist's booklet documents a series of photographs taken in Rome. Simile means ‘alike’ and refers to what is depicted in the photographs. Despite a high degree of abstraction, the works show the physicality of the arrangement of folds seen on baroque marble statues. Flavio Micheli is interested in what can be shown as well as what is shrouded. The discourse of images is a discourse about the imaginary, about the desire for the Other within one's own identity.
