Urs Burki (1945-2017) lived a dual existence between art, aesthetics, celebrity and surgery throughout his life. In the 1970s, he earned a doctorate in medicine. At the same time, he was active in the Lucerne art scene and created his first artistic works such as paintings and performances. His focus, however, was clearly on his work as a plastic surgeon, making a name for himself with open-air operations. The monograph presents for the first time Urs Burki's (1973-2016) complete artistic œuvre, most of which he had previously withheld from the public.
